Honest journalists are describing how people choose stories and exciting narratives over truth. And this is exactly the point. I have not seen or heard any average person who are into yet another movie scenario of some imagined script, ever be interested in any truth. Truth, in the mainstream opinion, does not even exist. Americans and some Europeans (Italian, German, French mainstream media and governments) want exactly what they have and spread: a catchy narrative with a good catchy slogan to be repeated from online and TV. Like "extremely dangerous to our democracy", "Russian invasion", "people are dying", "stay home save lives", "Putin price hike", "Putin Trump", "Putin Hitler", "build back better", "Black Lives matter", "defund the police", "Slava Ukraini". These are the titles of the movies people are in, and happy to be in the movies. Nobody wants any truth, or any history, for that matter. Remembering history, tracing the events' cause and effect, analyzing historical development - this is what they call "conspiracy theories". Movies, man. Movies, plots, scripts, protagonists, good and bad, heroes, thrill, action, adrenaline. And the main thing: deny that truth can be found at all. Say "everyone lies", "there is propaganda on both sides".
