David, thank you. As a philosopher and an esoterist, Carl Jung cared for individual work on oneself. I understand it. It is eternal. Since human beings emerged, some humans acquired an inner call to self-development. What Foucault wrote about when he spoke on "taking care of oneself" concept in Greek philosophy.
That is what philosophy and spirituality are for.
However, mass education and mass propaganda of moral values, human brotherhood, altruism, mutual help, diplomacy, cooperation and mutual respect is also needed. It's just a different area.
In the US, we had quite different mass propaganda: Bernays, Ayn Rand, Leo Strauss. Propaganda of self-interest, individualism, disregard for effects of one's own actions, contempt for conscience, shame and responsibility.
Is it a wonder that the US finally embraced Zionism on the level of ordinary people . That's perfect ideology of supremacism, self-interest, self-exceptionalism, self-entitlement - the whole world owns them.
To dismantle this condition, many generations are needed and it is impossible to win, and not at all in our lifetime. It is only possible to slowly change people's mentality by changing historical conditions. I am sure it will happen in 200 or 300 years. Just imagine, how many hundreds of years has humanity lived without the notion of human rights or international law - and for how long we have these concepts. Only less than 100 years! What can we expect, people cannot change that fast.
